Style and Philosophy
Though the scope of her work is vast and varied, Kirsten has been consistently recognized for the work that she is most passionate about—her striking images of children. Kirsten’s emotionally evocative style fuses the elegance of fine art with the spontaneity of photojournalism. This unique synthesis, combined with her love of children, is the key element in her breath-taking photographs.
Process
Kirsten’s artistic portraiture philosophy is one of personal connection and psychological insight. She interacts with her subjects to capture personality subtleties and solicit natural, candid expression. In order to establish this rapport, she frequently shoots “on location” at a locale familiar to her subject—in clients’ homes or favorite outdoor settings. And she collaborates with each client on an individual basis to creatively determine and achieve the specific vision for customized photo shoots.
